Project Description

This two storey semidetached dwelling in Limerick City was very dull and cramped. It had no flow and lacked adequate storage space for a young family. Our brief was to design and obtain planning permission for a two storey rear extension which was to accommodate a large open plan kitchen and dining area and a forth bedroom. It was important to ensure that the main areas of the house are exposed to as much natural light as possible. As this dwelling is in an urbanised area we felt that it was important to bring as much of the rear garden into the design as possible therefore we designed the extension around a small courtyard.
