Project Description

This old bungalow in Co Tipperary was very run down and in need of major work. When our client purchased the house our brief was to design and obtain planning permission for a large extension for her and her family and to ensure that the proposed extension would be able to take advantage of the wonderful views that they are exposed to at the rear of their house. To this end we designed a limestone porch at the side of the existing dwelling, this was to act as a link from the old dwelling to the new extension. In order to ensure that the views could be seen throughout the dwelling we designed an L shaped extension which wrapped around a rear courtyard. The existing dwelling now accommodates a two reception rooms, a study and gym, while the extension accommodates and very large open plan kitchen, dining and T.V. area and five large bedrooms, two with ensuites.
